Welcome to The Gathering's Steve Moore's Fab April Blog! Steve writes: Last week I was meeting a friend in town and decided that as the sun had made a rare appearance I should walk. So I parked my car in Twerton and headed towards town. After a few minutes I decided I was feeling particularly adventurous and so would stray from the usual path I would take and find an alternative route/short cut (hopefully!).

Local Artist Shows Work Alongside Damien Hirst At Bath Abbey |
Bath Abbey writes: Local artist Patrick Haines has been overwhelmed by the positive response he has received for his work which is currently on display at Bath Abbey as part of the ‘Odyssey’ exhibition. Patrick works from Spike Island Studio in Bristol, but lives in Bath and lectures at Bath Spa University. He studied Fine Art sculpture alongside model-making before working with Aardman Studios, Spitting Image Studio and BBC Wildlife.

Genesis Fun Summer Dates For Your Diary! |

You can't have failed to notice the first hints of summer in the air!.. So, good to know that Genesis have some summery dates for our diaries.. The first is a garden party on Sunday 30 June at 9 Church Road in Weston, with music provided by the Sulis Wind Trio and French Connection Jazz, cakes and refreshments for sale, a beautiful garden to peruse and plants for sale (tickets £5 in advance £6 on the day). Do you fancy a pirate pedal? Genesis are inviting us to don our eye patches and get peddling to raise funds for the trust on Saturday 13 July.

Bath Abbey Appoints Oral History Project Manager |
Bath Abbey writes: Bath Abbey has appointed Dr Oliver Taylor as Project Manager for ‘Creating Voices’, an 18-month oral history project which will gather, preserve, and share the stories of the many individuals who helped care for or restore the Abbey between 1942 and 2000. The project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Friends of Bath Abbey.

Kinuman Norte, a mountain village in Ozamis to be precise! He tells us in his own words and pictures about his busy two weeks joining Christian outreaches where the depressed and otherwise unwell were healed. Bob writes: 'Yvonne and I were ministering in Kinuman Norte, a mountain village in Ozamis, where we established a church, The Happy Church Kinuman, a couple of years ago.'

Arise Prayer Day Tomorrow - Kids Conference At Freedom Church |
Did you know that this sunday is Arise Day - when children are gathering across the world to join together and worship God. Here in Bath Brendon and Cathie Clancy the founders of the Arise Movement are at Freedom Church where there is a kids conference tomorrow, before a family worship event takes place on the Sunday from 3.30 to 5pm. Bath City Church Children's Pastor, Rob Bubyer who is taking part in the conference said: "Join us for a day jam packed with lots of activities and fun! We’ll alse be preparing and practising for Sunday’s live link up with our children across the world!"

Student Community Partnership Oldfield Park Family Fun Day |

The Student Community Partnership, which includes Bath & North East Somerset Council, is to host a Family Fun Day at Oldfield Park Baptist Church on Saturday 13 April between 12pm and 3pm. The SCP, which also includes the University of Bath, Bath Spa University and their Students’ Unions, hopes that the event will help students to get to know other local residents, as they give something back to their community. Councillor Will Sandry, Chair of Student Community Partnership, said, “In recent years, students in Bath & North East Somerset have played a significant and growing role in the local community and the Student Community Partnership aims to encourage a good relationship between students and members of the local community.”
