Forgotten Tribe Get School and Simon Guillebaud Shares Links And A Role in Africa United!

twa_childOne hundred Twa children described by Simon Guillebaud, as "The poorest of the poor" have started school for the first time this month, as part of Simon's Great Lakes Outreach Mission in Burundi.  "They are the first ever in their lineage to attend school - just one of the many beautiful things we're involved with in Burundi." says Simon.

Set up in conjunction with Harvest for Christ and Fields of Life, the school is a great development in this previously war-torn country.  There were 80,000 of the Twa population counted as spread across Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2000.  This minority group have been an historically subjugated tribe in Burundi, first by the Hutu and then the Tutsi tribes.  They have had little access to training and education.

Simon's other news includes the release of the latest film in the More Than Conquerors DVD series; 'Ready?'.

"Some of you won't like it, but the incident in the film really happened and the stakes are seriously high." says Simon of the new film to accompany the More Than Conquerors book, which re-enacts Simon preaching in a village one day, only to find the next day that the village was being subjugated to a rebel forces' massacre.

"It's powerful and meaningful" says Simon.

But perhaps most exciting for film-buffs, is Simon's 'extra' role in the new film Africa United; reading a book in the distance. Directed by his cousing Debs, who received a miraculous healing after a near fatal car crash in 2003, this film is described by Simon as 'a cracking family movie done by Christians...so a must see!  He adds "It looks set to be as successful as Slumdog Millionaire!"
