Unchosen hits Facebook

Now supporters of South West charity Unchosen - which raises awareness of human trafficking through film - can keep even more up to date on its Film Festivals via its new Facebook page.

The charity which has a film festival planned to take place in Bath this winter and hosts film showings and question and answer sessions with directors, is inviting Facebook users to visit its page and click 'Like' to ensure the page gets established.

Founder Trish Davidson said: "We really would appreciate it if you have Facebook yourself or know someone who does, if you would be happy to help spread the word of Unchosen Film Festivals page.

"Once we have more than 25 hits we have our own page.  Our goal is to get 200 hits in the next few weeks."

Honorary President, film director Nick Broomfield who made the film 'Ghosts' about the Chinese cocklepickers who drowned in 2004 at Morecambe Bay at the hands of ruthless traffickers said on the Unchosen website: "The reason I made Ghosts is that I felt it is an incredibly big subject.  We don't realise that our standard of living in this country is dependant on undocumented workers who come here.  I think they are people living in terrible conditions doing jobs noone else wants to do.

"We need them as much as they need us.  There needs to be a respect shown to them."

Ghosts will be shown at the Forum in Bath, at 7.30pm on October 20th and 27th and November 3rd and 10th.
