An Impromptu Busk!.. Unchosen Needs Funds To Keep Combatting Human Trafficking
Unchosen the south west based national anti-human trafficking charity, which raises awareness through film, raised funds with a difference last Sunday! Visitors to the Abbey Churchyard were treated to an impromptu clarinet quartet's performance of classical tunes, led by Bath composer Howard Davidson, whilst tins were rattled - softly! - to raise funds for the work of this crucial charity. Funds are needed by Unchosen to continue its work after August this year.

The busking concert which took place on Sunday 26 June is part of Unchosen's efforts to raise funds for its essential work says founder and director, Trish
Davidson:
"Too many people think human trafficking is a problem only in the rest of the world, but it is happening every day, right here on our doorstep.
"Children and adults are smuggled into Britain to work in illegal sweatshops, domestic servitude, agriculture, construction or the sex industry. They are enslaved, exploited and stripped of the most basic human rights.
"We hope people enjoyed the concert and will also take the opportunity to find out more about our work, and even join our campaign.
"Our new offices are in South Vaults, Green Park Station so why not pop in and have a chat."
The trafficking of adults and children to work as forced labour or in the sex industry is the second largest crime concern of the UK police says Trish.
But it is a largely underground crime, hidden from view.
"For the past three years, Unchosen has been working to bring this issue to greater public attention."
According to the charity, typically more than 80 percent of the people who attend Unchosen sponsored events say that they had previously known little to nothing about human trafficking, and a large proportion of them (three quarters) are inspired to join the campaign to stamp out this 21st century form of slavery.
