Genesis Trust Celebrates Another Year!
Volunteers, staff and supporters of the Genesis Trust gathered in St Philip’s Church at Odd Down on 29 September to celebrate another year of progress for the trust. The volunteers were thanked for all the work they do, and new members of staff were welcomed.
Genesis runs many projects for people in need in the city of Bath, including The Soup Run, The Sunday Centre, Lunchbox, The Lifeline Centre, The Furniture Project, Lifeskills, The Woodworks, and Street Pastors.

The year has seen the launch of Bath Foodbank, which is now providing food parcels to families and individuals who are in need for any reason. Food is donated by people doing their normal shopping at local supermarkets, and then stored, packed and handed out at delivery points around Bath. It is all manned by volunteers, and more volunteers would be very welcome.
The guest speaker was David Maggs, who is the Diocesan Adviser for Social Justice and the Environment. David talked about Community Developme
nt, and how local churches are so well positioned to be able to do this in their areas, helping to stimulate community activities and to encourage people who may be feeling lonely or isolated to join in.
The latest development is the Love Weston and Love Newbridge Community Cafes. These are being run by teams that are initially drawn from the churches in the area and from Christians who live in the area but worship elsewhere.
They are places where people can find real friendship and welcome, get food and drink at reasonable prices, find out about what is happening in the area, be supported and prayed for, and take part in shared activities.
