UNITE is a Brand New Multi-Church Prayer Event For Bath - Find Out More!

photoUNITE Bath is a brand new monthly worship and event uniting all Bath's Christians in prayer for the city.  Open to all denominations and truly 'multi' or 'cross church' in its essence, this dynamic spawned from a group of like-minded Christians attending a youth service this time last year - is going from strength to strength!  Find out more about this brand new prayer project in Bath!

How did UNITE Bath come into being?

Good question!  A youth service for the whole of Bath was held at St Michaels Without at the end of October 2010. After meeting afterwards to discuss and pray about how it went and what came from it, we felt God was calling us to create a monthly opportunity for the church in Bath to praise God and pray for the city together. So we did. Dan Golding, Chris Heward, Phil Callaghan, Harriet Cook, Alex Lee, Seb Norman and Laura Douglas-Bate are on the UNITE Bath team.

What is UNITE Bath all about?

As mentioned above, providing opportunities for the church in bath to praise God and pray for the city together. On a side note, it was intriguing to find out after we started that there were at least two other Christian movements called 'Unite' with the same vision. As well as this it's been amazing to see UNITE Bristol start up earlier this year and continue to flourish.

Who is UNITE Bath for?

For those who know Jesus (believe in, and pray to Him as Savior and Lord), and those who want to find out more about Jesus. Hopefully everyone then!jesus_jpeg

It is for all ages, but we don't have a specific young children's area during the evening at the moment, but parents are welcome to bring them along anyway.

Where, when does it take place?

We meet at St Michaels Without at the moment who graciously put up with us! This is on a monthly basis towards the end of the month, usually a Friday or Saturday, from 19:30 to 21:30.

What are your hopes and dreams for UNITE Bath?

That God will keep using it for His will and bless it abundantly. And that wherever that leads us we will follow.

Any exciting 'testimonies' from UNITE Bath?

Yes!  We get a lot of people walking in off the streets to see what's happening inside, with a wide variety of reactions. We've had some great chats explaining what we're doing and talking about the gospel...  We've had people wanting prayer, one lady asked if she could play her guitar at the back while the band practised and one man gave his life to Christ having thought he was 'just passing through Bath'.

There is also something very, very special and significant in seeing Christians from different denominations coming together with the sole aim of praising God and praying for Bath as one church.
