What does SOC aim to achieve or do?

Our vision is people encountering the love of God and experiencing His presence through our worship.

It seems very organic on Facebook - with people able to join and join in... Is this how it is?  Is it aimed at likeminded people - all willing to go out and worship, evangelise?

This is totally how it is!!  Anyone is welcome to come along and sing or pray. It is aimed at people who have a passion for God and who are eager to see His Kingdom come.

What happens on a Saturday when SOC gets together?  How do you start?  and how does the day progress?

Generally, we gather at around 11:30 - 11:45am outside of Macdonalds, then once 276853_239098099461032_6762385_nwe think we have everyone we're expecting, we pray for God's protection and boldness upon ourselves, pray for a location then head to either where God tells us to go or to one of the areas around the town that is suitable for busking.
We then sing and play worship songs until around 1pm, then gather, pray and debrief (not necessarily in that order!!)

What are your hopes and dreams and future plans for SOC?

At the moment we are waiting on God and are listening to Him for guidance.

There seems to be a deliberate move to be on the streets/outside.. Is this part of your success?

As a group, we believe in the vision God has given us, which has included several words about getting out of 'The Temple of God' (church buildings) and into the streets where He can encounter people directly as opposed to in a church setting.

We know about some of the other groups that do evangelistic work, like the Street Pastors and Graham Duke and his team, and are hoping to possibly do some worship in conjunction with them at some point, but we as a group believe we have been called to worship on the streets, not evangelise.

Who is SOC open to?  Can anyone join?

SOC is open to anyone who is passionate about God, seeing people's lives transformed and about worshipping.
We are having a prayer meeting this Saturday (19th November)  to launch our vision statement, to celebrate running for three months and to ask for God's guidance on where to go next.
