Tall Trees Rising Is A Developing Music and Media Movement!.. But Founder Tracey Is Open To Ideas

Tall Treeband_collages Rising is a dynamic new creative 'movement' grown and developed by former Bathonian Tracey Taylor, from an initial band Tall Trees formed in 2007.  Tracey who grew up in Bath - always had a vision for more than simply a band - and is delighted to announce that her desire to found a movement which branches into other creative areas and supports other bands and artistes is coming fully to life!

Find out how this inspiring creative project is establishing links with diverse acts including kids' favourite - Sooty! and encompassing her Bath based brother, Phill Kay as one of Tall Trees' band drummer and Bath City Church's Ian Meade as sound engineer.

Tracey please tell us a little about yourself?

I am 35 and live in Cheshire with my husband Ween, 37, who is also one of TTR's drummers and our two children Luke, six and Jacob, two.

I am a devout follower of Jesus Christ and have been since I was 14 and my husband has become a Christian in recent years. We attend Breathe City Church based in Stoke-on-Trent, which has many different venues all around the city which they call "campuses", due to their rapid growth rate and vision.

Please explain your connections with Bath?

I spent the first 19 yrs of my life in Bath, then left to study Religious Studies with Visual And Live Arts at Gloucestershire University. My mother still lives in Bath and my brother, who heads up the KonneXion project within TTR, lives in Clutton on the outskirts. So we find ourselves visiting fairly regularly.  Ian Meade from Bath City Ian_Meade_Church is our sound engineer.

Apart from the fact your mother and brother (Phill Kay) are here - why do you have such an affection or are drawn to Bath as a city?

Well, I guess it is because I was brought up there -that never really leaves you...

Tell us about your project Tall Trees Rising?

Tall Trees Rising (TTR) launched in November 2011 as a result of the expansion of Tall Trees Band.

We had the initial idea of Tall Trees Band in 2007 and we played a few places, but I always carried a vision that was more than it being just another band. With the core members taking their places in 2010, the outworking of that vision began, starting with our electronic branch of music (KonneXion).

From then and throughout 2011, we found the vision growing that brought us to a place where it was clear we could not operate solely under the name Tall Trees Band any longer - we were more than this. So in November, Tall Trees Rising was birthed; a movement where - although we step into other avenues of creativity, the heart is outworked primarily through music.

At present, TTR oversees two bands along with other media such as Puppet Parables (due to release it's first film soon), with the plan to continue expanding - part of which will be done in working with others either as a partner in the cause, or by becoming one of our branches.

What inspired you to begin this project?

I have always had a passion for music and outside-of-the-box ideas, so it is great to be working with a group of individuals who are fantastically talented musicians and artistes and equally wacky in their creative suggestions!band_neon

Since becoming a Christian, my longing has always been to use my skills as a medium for communicating the faith and being something God would use, to draw others to faith in Him. It is something I will keep pursuing, unless I feel to have a career-change!  Then I would give whatever those skills would be, in whatever environment I would be in, to communicate His life-saving Message.

What are the aims of the project?

The aim of the project is two-fold: To play our part in nurturing Christ's body (the Church) and to usher in those whom Christ is calling into His kingdom at this time (for this year and the next and so on..). We are seeing this cross-over happen already, as we have found ourselves establishing connections with Sooty from sootychildren's television, the Services and nightclubs - all of which are in their infancy, but are very key contacts we have been given, to cross-over into the mission-field and into the mainstream.

Secondly we want monies that come in as we grow, to be sown into other Gospel-preaching initiatives and for ourselves to play a part in the holistic transforming of lives... Not just on an emotional or spiritual level as folk find healing from knowing Christ as Saviour and Redeemer, but on a physical level also by helping the poor and those on the margins. This again, would be done primarily by supporting organisations that work in poverty-stricken areas of our country and the World.

Tell us about your planned beneficiary tour?

We do not have a beneficiary tour planned yet, but it is something we would like to do. We would like to do something next year and make it something exciting! So we are in the planning stages. I am looking torward to us working with others to put it on and the benefit it will bring to us all in so doing.

Is unity a very important factor of Tall Trees Rising?

Yes, it is the most important factor. United, we are stronger and united we can go with the river's flow, as supposed to battling against the tide.

What are your hopes for 2012?

For favour from God (and man) on our endeavours and seeing through this favour, increase: Increase in appointments coming in (gigs) and financial increase. I want Tall Trees Rising to grow as a business and be in a place of being able to make a real impact. Yes - even in recession times. I believe that if God wants something established, He will do it. All he needs is what we can give Him and He can multiply that -and outwork this also in the lives of all those who would feel to give, either by donation or purchasing one of our products. We will see how the year unfolds!

What are you setting out to achieve this year?

To make Tall Trees Rising known and be a step closer to establishing ourselves as a known organisation and music movement.

Will you be expanding your time/ contact with Bath this year?

Yes, through the circumstances given that two of the team are based in Bath and in the opportunties that may be presented to us, to network with others.
