David says: “Each shop or stall will have a range of top titles, perennial favourites and newly published books available as well as the monthly comprehensive A Great Read magazines detailing handpicked newly published and established titles will be available, with the additional ability to access A Great Read’s large database of Christian titles and. So if what you are looking for is not immediately on-hand it can be sourced for you for collection in a matter of days.”
A Great Read is a Wiltshire-based mail order Christian book seller which specialises in customer service and price, offering excellent value for money. David says: “It seems obvious to say but bookshops are not like supermarkets – you don’t go to fill your trolley with supplies, whisk through the self-checkout and home! A Christian bookshop is a hub of activity, knowledge and advice: a place that represents the rich diversity of the Christian faith – and it is this aspect that Richard and I are keen to offer churches that come on board.”
Both men have a comprehensive knowledge of Christian titles, authors and genres – born of years’ of experience working with Christian publishers and will offer a knowledgeable customer service to churches and their members coming on board with the scheme.
David says: “A bookshop on church premises broadens the church’s appeal and mission and serves as a focal point for book readers in the area. Richard plans to work dynamically with individual churches to organize events such as author talks or launch book reading clubs – a new community of book lovers will be born! Churches that take up the scheme will also make a modest income from their stall.”
