What inspired you to set up the Loss and Bereavement Group?
A workshop I attended at a Chaplains Conference in Norway 3 years ago
Who will it benefit?
Any student suffering loss (death/end of a relationship) and/or bereavement
Why is such a group so important/ vital in a university setting?
Many students suffer from he loss of a grandparent and less frequently a parent, or the break up of a long term relationship, this gives them a chance to share their experiences, realise they are not alone in their feelings etc
So Lent is beginning on 22 Feb - do you have a message for students and all of our readers about this Lent?
Great chance to give up a bad habit or take up a good one, as we share with Christs suffering in the wilderness and prepare ourselves to celebrate the great festival of Easter.
Do you have any special reading for Lent?
Normally read one of the recommended Lent books - still trying to find time to go down to the Abbey Book Shop to find one, hectic this week!
You mention Loss of relationships in the group description - can this be a very devastating experience for a young person at Uni?
Yes, especially when they lose a friend or house mate to suicide.
