So its 16 DAYS Until The Spectacular Olympics Opening Night!! Can You Run A Street Party or Mini Festival?

At Love Bath many of you will have seen and experienced how easy and natural it Bath-Quartet-Ben-Paul-Sophie-Katrina-292x421is to build community with friends, neighbours and people you've just met in relaxed, purposefully loving surroundings!  With two and a half weeks until the Olympics Opening Night..  are you planning a mini festival - inspired by the fun at Love Bath, street party or planning on sharing this once in a lifetime experience with friends?  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Perhaps you could start your event around 5 or 6pm with a free meal and some games and activities, your event could culminate in watching the Opening Ceremony together at 9pm.  Free resources kindly donated by Fusion Youth and Community especially for you to organise such an event are available from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Four University of Bath athletes selected for the Paralympics Great Britain Athletics team; Katrina Hart, Paul Blake, Ben Rushgrove and Sophie Kamlish will be taking part.  Katrina will run the T37 100m and 200m, and is also a member of the GB 4×100 relay squad, Paul will run the T36 400m and 800m. He won gold over 400m at last year’s World Championships and silver over 800m.  Sophie makes her Paralympic Games debut in London running the T44 100m and 200m.  Ben Rushgrove competes at his second Paralympic Games after winning silver in the T36 100m in Beijing four years ago – a feat that was all the more impressive as he had two broken bones in his foot.

The Paralympics takes place from 29 August until 9 September and will include around 18 sports such as; Wheelchair basketball, Swimming, Shooting, Wheelchair Fencing, Equestrian and 5-a-side football.
