Churches Unite To Give The Alpha Course
If you ask your friends 'Does God exist?' Whether they reply: Yes, No or probably?...They might enjoy the Bath City Church and Holy Trinity Combe Down joint Alpha course. The two churches have joined forces to deliver this course which has received more than 2 million attendees nationally.
Currently the two churches are delivering an autumn course at Bath City Church and a Spring course at the Trinity Rooms in The Avenue, Combe Down and have extended a warm welcome for all other churches in the city to get involved.
Bath City Church leader, Stewart Keiller said he was delighted to be offering the course in this way. "We are delighted to be in partnership with Holy Trinity in offering the Bath Alpha course. This initiative was started many years ago across the churches and we have picked up the day to day running of it.
"We welcome all churches to get involved. Doing alpha together is much better than any one church trying to do it on their own, you get a real buzz from the course."
The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life from a Christian perspective in a relaxed low key and friendly way. Each evening starts with a meal together from 7pm. It is very much seen as a 'safe place' to ask questions no matter how simple or hostile.
The most recent course began on 17th March with Valentine Inglis-Jones' talk on 'How Can I Resist Evil?' Other talks have included:
'Does God Heal Today?' on 24th March by Richard Fothergill, 'Why and How Should I tell Others?', on 31st March by Grant Shepherd and 'What About The Church?' on 7th April by Valentine Inglis-Jones.
